the task

Make a film that carries emotion without a single line of dialogue, and keep the same faces across fifteen years of story. A carpenter raises his daughter alone; instead of doing things for her, he quietly rebuilds the house so she can do them herself. She grows up and starts building for others.

Screenplay and shotlist
The wordless story was broken into scenes and shots before any generation: every action has to read without text.

Characters and identity lock
Character sheets on neutral grey plus written face and wardrobe locks, so a character stays themselves from shot to shot and from age to age.

The world, top-down first
Each room starts as a top-down plan, then empty location plates and props. Every angle adds up to one consistent space.

Anchor first, then dependents
Each scene gets one approved anchor frame; the rest are built from it, so light, colour and geometry hold.

Review like a real production
Per-scene contact sheets, a dramaturgy audit, review rounds and an animatic before any time goes into animation.

Animation, edit, sound
Frames come alive in Seedance, referencing only empty plates and single figures. Then the director's cut, sound design and music.
